SO2 affecting our Planet
Have you ever imagined the production scope range of daily usage products such as disinfectants? Are you aware of the drastic consequences triggered from toxic gases release into the atmosphere such as Sulfur Dioxide? Currently, as sulfur dioxide concentration in the air has been influenced by fabrication gases; some industrialized countries have worked to reduce levels of these gases in order to prevent environmental disasters…but can these actions be enough to counteract all the effects of sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere?
To begin with, is important to state, that humans´ health is also affected by SO2. The inhalations of this gas can cause a person respiratory issues and even reaching lungs cancer. A factory worker, for example can be more exposed to ending at severe diseases including neuronal and respiratory ones.
Moreover, as established before, severe environmental distortions can occur due to the presence of sulfur dioxide gases on it. One of the most worrying events, is the heating of ocean waters, which furthermore melts earth´s glaciers and increase the sea level, leading to disasters such as the flooding of coastal cities, just like what happened in 2018, affecting citizens all around Miami and Boston due to high water levels on the streets.
Another devastating effect bound to SO2 concentrations on earth is its obvious contribution to climate change, which may have influence on the development on “El Niño” phenomenon in different areas of the globe, affecting societies development, due to its strong climatic charge. For instance, In Colombia, where this marvel lately has been frequently present; several cities were running out of water supplies consequently to the radical droughts.
To sum up our daily actions are affecting crucially the destiny of our environment. Each day SO2 concentrations are increasing in the atmosphere; leading to health issues, species extintions, and climate change. Currently, some industry companies are doing huge efforts for reducting their SO2 emissions; but as far as the situstion is; nothing good seems to come for the planet.

Has technology made it easier for people to connect on a deeper level?
Have you ever been scrolling your cellphone´s screen and suddenly think on how would you manage your life without it? Today, electronic devices have made it easier for people to communicate with each other, creating the sensation of being connected on a deeper level.
Technology has become a representative communication tool, affecting every single person in the world since the beginning of the century. It has helped to create networks between people all around the globe, without being affected by aspects such as distance or language differences.
Regarding technology, important satellite tools have been introduced to humanity, such as the internet, which help the strengthening of human relationships, eliminating physical communicative limitations. For example, someone living in Colombia, can perfectly hold a real-time conversation with someone from China.
Technology’s usage could have also some side negative effects derived from its facilities. Cyberbullying has become one of the hugest internet problematics in Century XXI, where everyone has access to any type of information; risking children and teenagers´ integral security. Even though this might seem as a huge problematic, it could be completely eradicated with technology well usage instructions.
Nowadays, a world without technology, will represent an un-informed world. Technology has facilitated information distribution, where people everywhere can be informed on topics from interest in few seconds, contributing to a more globalized world, in which the same information is equaled distributed all around it. Virtual newspapers are the perfect example for this case. Due to them, people are informed over the news happening during the last 24 everywhere and at any time.
My 18 years’ experience living in this world, has convinced me on believing nowadays would be impossible for humans to survive without technology, because it has turned into a very important tool regarding human interactions, relationships, work effectiveness and survival skills.
