My name is Valentina Castro, I am an 18 years old girl from Colombia who just finished high school and is searching worldwide opportunities for finding huge motivations on performing my future career; international relationships.
One of my greatest purposes now that I am about to begin my professional life Is to find a passion which I would be able to perform with no regrets for the rest of my life. I would like to discover a way in which I can put into practice my social and linguistic abilities, and all my knowledges in pro of the community that surrounds me; for this reasons, I would like to apply for Belle Vue´s volunteering in association with the Belgium Red Cross for helping the users on having the best of the experiences while their permanence in there.
I am a person who is very in love with the people in her surroundings, someone who loves to contribute in making the world a better place and who fervently believes in humanity. I had spent more than half my life as a member of the National Scouts Association of my country. There, I have learned the meaning of disinterest helping, and the importance of youth empowerment. Due to this, I have had the opportunity to participate in several volunteerings in Colombia regarding different communities. I have also assisted to several leadership trainings and projects generation forums.
One of the volunteering programs in which I participated, was with Colombia´s Red Cross, in 2017 when a terrible avalanche in Mocoa, ended up with more than 320 lives and left thousands of damaged Colombians in the streets. In that time, we helped receiving the donations, classifying them and packaging hundreds of humanitarian aids. It was one of the most feedbacking experiences I had ever had. That event was the one which changed my life perspective and made me to be in love with social service.
Having the opportunity of being part of an international volunteering would be an awesome opportunity for me on getting to know new places and cultures which would lead my vision to a global perspective and would make it easier for me to help in the sustainable development goals and human rights, which really passionate me. Getting to live a year in Belgium would also mean the perfect space for practicing my second and third language, which are English and French. I am very exited of interacting with different people in aim of socially helping them; I am a very open person to get introduced to new persons and having an assertive relationship, in which connection can be created with them.
I would like you to consider me, as a great candidate for performing this task, I am sure I will perform it with all the love, responsibility and enthusiasm which I am able to give not only to the cause, but to every single human being with whom I interact. All my physical and intellectual skills will always be putted in pro of helping and receiving a feedback which in the future would lead me to contributing on greater things. This is just the beginning.
